RED LOBSTER STYLE CHEDDAR BISCUITS

INGREDIENTS

2 cups all purpose flour

1 tablespoon baking powder

1 tablespoon sugar

1 tablespoon garlic powder

¾ teaspoon salt

½ teaspoon cayenne pepper

1 teaspoon smoked paprika

½ cup unsalted butter melted

1 cup buttermilk

8 oz shredded cheddar cheese

1 teaspoon dried parsley

For topping you will also need: ¼ cup buttermilk + 1 teaspoon dried parsley + 1 teaspoon smoked paprika

INSTRUCTIONS

Preheat oven to 450 degrees. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

In a mixing bowl whisk together the flour, baking powder, sugar, garlic powder, salt, smoked paprika, cayenne pepper and dried parsley.

In another bowl combine the buttermilk and melted butter together. Add this mixture to the flour mixture and combine gently with a spatula then add the cheese and mix it well into the dough. Measure ¼ scoops of dough and drop on the baking sheet about an inch apart. Brush the tops with buttermilk and sprinkle with the smoked paprika and dried parsley. Bake 10 to 12 minutes until golden brown.
